Joel is a creator at heart. Being most satisfied when his ideas and vision become tangible and help people in the real world. He has immersed himself in the study of industrial and product design, as well as the understanding of user-centric design, to apply expert design tactics. He prides himself in creating websites that inspire and engage with people on high levels of visual communication.
His journey with frontend website design extends well over 5 years now. Starting out with a small side project in his high-school years, developing and managing an online news and media platform for cyclists – now well established, attracting readers globally.
When he is not in his office chair, Joel can be spotted pushing the limits on his bicycle or adventuring in some of the local mountain reserves. And yes, he is best operated caffeinated 😉

I am passionate about creative communication through intelligent design. After finishing my B.Comm degree, marketing became the primary position I found myself in at different organisations I worked for. There were a couple of website projects I managed – working with developers, designers and copywriters – but the combination of all three services intrigued me, which led me to start Pathfind Media, a boutique brand- and web marketing agency.
I never anticipated falling in love with creative communication, let alone project management and business analysis – but I have. I would consider myself a frontend website designer, with great project management ability and good business sense.
I also love team collaboration and thrive on continuous learning.
My ultimate priority is being the best husband and father to my 3 girls, which includes being the primary breadwinner. I am therefore extremely motivated to be successful.
I am passionate about the great outdoors! We often go day-hiking. I also get excited about epic- and sports movies.
But most of all, we love new travelling experiences! Honestly, we feel it is what memories are made of. We much prefer experiences over “stuff”. We are always jokingly calculating the cost of items in terms of flight ticket prices and determining how many places we could travel for X amount of “stuff”.
In my short lifetime, I have had the privilege to travel to 32 different countries. I love new challenges and I am forever looking forward to expanding my horizons. So yes, first prize for us is travelling globally. Petro and I met on an international mission trip, and so this scene was in the DNA of our relationship and life from the start.
However, it’s not just travelling the world that we are passionate about. We love exploring new places even in our very home town, where we’d often try a new coffee shop, interesting cuisine or go for a drive/hike in some unknown local place. We are fond of making new friends. And we live with purpose.
