A domain name is a sequence of letters and/or numbers separated by one or more periods (e.g. “pathfindmedia.com”).
It acts as a pointer to a unique numerical address (IP) on a computer network such as the internet.
Each website must have a unique domain registered at the Domain Name Registrar.
This needs administration, since the DNS (Domain Name Server) Zone file must be set up and there is an annual fee payable to the Registrar.
